CBRE has appointed Henry Chin as its new global head of research, as announced in a release on March 26. Chin will take over from Richard Barkham, who is set to retire from CBRE at the end of June.
In his new role, Chin will lead a team of nearly 600 research experts, focusing on guiding real estate investors and occupiers in understanding the key forces shaping the commercial property market.
Chin joined CBRE in 2014 as head of research for the Asia Pacific region. He later served as head of research for EMEA from 2019 to 2020 before taking on his most recent roles as global COO for CBRE Research and head of investor thought leadership.
Before joining CBRE, Chin held senior positions in research and investment strategy at PGIM and Deutsche Bank Group. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Land Economics and Administration from National Taipei University, a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Reading and a PhD in Real Estate Investment from Oxford Brookes University.
“Henry is well known for his astute analysis of global real estate markets and sectors,” says Vikram Kohli, CBRE’s COO and CEO of advisory services. “CBRE and our clients will benefit from his focus on producing actionable insights and market intelligence that inform strategies for real estate investors and occupiers.”
