Co-working space operator The Great Room will open a new 36,000 sq ft premium workspace at Shaw Tower next year, marking its eighth location in Singapore. Last year, the company also took over the management of C-suites at Paya Lebar Quarter from Lendlease.
Lendlease manages the redevelopment of Shaw Tower on Beach Road for Shaw Towers Realty. The Great Room will occupy the seventh and eighth floors. Shaw Tower was the first new commercial building to achieve BCA’s Green Mark Platinum (Super Low Energy) certification under the 2021 criteria. It is also Singapore’s first high-rise Grade A commercial building to be awarded the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) WELL v2 Core Gold.
The Great Room says the partnership with Shaw Tower highlights the company’s belief in co-working as a sustainable solution for the future of work. This belief perfectly aligns with the building’s ethos. She adds: “This location will also mark our first to pursue wellness workplace certification, reflecting our commitment to well-being and innovation.”
The Great Room operates 13 co-working locations across the Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sydney. This latest expansion follows CBRE’s acquisition of Industrious, the company’s US-based parent company.
Ang says the acquisition strengthens Industrious’ global scale and CBRE’s resources while staying aligned with its successful strategy and vision. She adds that it creates more growth opportunities for The Great Room in the Asia Pacific.
