Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced its plans to expand the group’s luxury and lifestyle brand portfolios across Asia Pacific. Over the next five years, Hyatt plans to open nearly 90 properties, which include the debut of the Thompson Hotels brand in the region.
This is expected to come alongside significant new entries and growth for Andaz, The Standard and Park Hyatt brands across key destinations such as Thailand, Malaysia and Australia.

The expansion comes on the back of the rising demand for the luxury travel market within Asia Pacific. According to the group, 64% of Hyatt’s Asia Pacific portfolio comprises luxury and upper-upscale hotels and resorts.
Since 2017, the group has also doubled the number of luxury rooms, tripled its resort rooms, and grown its lifestyle rooms five-fold globally. Carina Chorengel, senior vice president of commercial properties in Asia Pacific at Hyatt, notes that luxury today focuses on providing authentic and unique experiences. “Our recently refined brand architecture and expansion in luxury and lifestyle portfolios allow us to cater to discerning travelers with focus and differentiation.”
The Thompson Hotels brand, which originated in Manhattan, is expected to make its Asia Pacific debut with Thomspon Shanghai Expo, which is scheduled to open in 4Q2025. Inspired by the city’s industrial roots and cosmopolitan energy, the hotel is set to feature cultural experiences as well as a rooftop with live entertainment and several events.
Meanwhile, Hyatt’s Andaz brand will introduce Andaz Gold Coast, an integrated resort in Australia, and Andaz One Bangkok, which will be situated in Lumphini Park within the One Bangkok development. In Shanghai, the brand will also add a second property with the opening of Andaz Shanghai ITC later this year.
Following Hyatt’s acquisition of Standard International in 2024, the group will also introduce The Standard, Pattaya Na Jomtien. The hotel is set to open in 3Q2025, and will feature a 60s-inspired beach club aesthetic.
In August, the group’s Park Hyatt brand will make its Malaysian debut with Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Located atop The Merdeka 118, the tallest skyscraper in Asia Pacific, the hotel will offer several culinary experiences. Park Hyatt Tokyo will also reopen in 4Q2025, following a 17-month enhancement effort.

Looking ahead, the group will introduce Park Hyatt Phu Quoc, the first Park Hyatt resort in Vietnam, which is expected to open in 1Q2026. Spanning 160 acres of land, the hotel is located just a 30-minute drive from Phu Quoc International Airport. Hotel facilities are set to include two dining outlets, a bar, a pool side barbecue, two swimming pools, a lakeside spa, and a gym house with a lap pool.
