Global hospitality company Hilton has announced the opening of its first Garden Inn ‘Gen A’ hotels across Mainland China. One of the first properties to open is the 276-key Hilton Garden Inn Chongqing Yubei Central Park.
Other properties under the new brand have also opened their doors in major cities across the country, including Chongqing, Sanya and Harbin.
Hilton unveiled its Garden Inn ‘Gen A’ brand last year, developed specifically for the Mainland Chinese market. It will offer a refreshed design and value enhancements over the established Garden Inn brand of hotels.
“The launch of Hilton Garden Inn Gen A marks an exciting evolution of the brand in China, directly responding to the evolving needs of Chinese travellers,” says Jenny Milos, vice president of brand management, suites and focused service in the Asia Pacific at Hilton.
“By creating spaces that reflect their values, style, and desire for comfort, balance, and connection, Gen A sets a new standard for guest experience in the upscale focused-service segment,” she adds.
Hilton has also announced the signing of 19 new projects under the brand in locations including Xining, Weihai, Changbai Mountain and Yiwu, accelerating its expansion into key cities and cultural tourism destinations.
“Targeting core urban centres and high-potential cultural and tourism destinations deepens our network in China as we aim to serve ever more business and leisure travellers,” says Clarence Tan, senior vice president of development in the Asia Pacific at Hilton.
Including the recent openings, Hilton Garden Inn now has more than 115 trading properties in China with another 185 in the pipeline. Globally, there are more than 1,000 properties under the Hilton Garden Inn brand spread across 64 countries.
