British developer Berkeley Group will launch residential units at Bermondsey Place, its latest 12-acre mixed-use project in London, on April 12.
Situated in the Bermondsey district of Southeast London, the project covers 12 acres and will deliver 1,300 homes alongside 67,000 sq ft of retail and commercial space across 12 buildings. Set to be completed in three phases, the first phase will see the launch of two residential developments: The Art Mill and The Art House, both of which are due for completion by 2027.
The Art Mill is a 14-storey building housing 40 residential apartments, while the Art House is a larger development housing 136 units across 22 storeys. Both projects will feature a unit mix of one-bedroom apartments ranging from 462 sq ft to 752 sq ft, two-bedroom apartments from 696 sq ft to 1,213 sq ft and three-bedroom apartments from 906 sq ft to 1,336 sq ft.
Prices at both developments start from GBP£475,000 ($823,160) for a one-bedroom unit, GBP620,000 ($1.07 million) for a two-bedroom unit and £818,480 ($1.42 million) for a three-bedroom unit.
Both projects feature common facilities including a 12-hour concierge service, gym, lounge and co-working spaces and a sky garden.
Lyndon Nunn, divisional sales and marketing director of Berkeley Group, says: “Set within a Zone 2 location which is undergoing significant regeneration and investment, residents at Bermondsey Place will enjoy a home that is well connected, close to green spaces and built to the Berkeley design and quality we are renowned for.”
According to the Berkeley Group, Bermondsey Place will be the first property on the market as part of the ongoing regeneration of Old Kent Road, which will see a projected GBP10 billion ($17.3 billion) in investments. The area’s redevelopment is expected to create 20,000 new homes, 10,000 jobs, and four new education facilities.
Once completed, Bermondsey Place will feature 2.9 acres of landscaped green space. It is also located next to the 140-acre Burgess Park, Southwark’s largest park.
The development is situated within minutes of public transportation nodes. South Bermondsey Station on the South London Line is a 14-minute walk, offering connectivity to Westminster, Wembley Park and King’s Cross stations.
Bermondsey Park is also set to benefit from the proposed extension of the Bakerloo line, which includes a new station right on Bermondsey Place’s doorstep, enhancing future connectivity.
Sales for the project have already launched in Hong Kong and Shanghai and will continue throughout April, with launches in Malaysia and Istanbul. Currently, there are no restrictions on foreign property ownership in the UK.
