A seven-bedroom townhouse located in Chelsea Barracks, a redevelopment project in London’s upscale Belgravia area, is up for sale with a guide price of GBP55 million ($95 million). The turnkey property at 5 Whistler Square spans 13,030 sq ft and was designed by British design studio Banda.
“We wanted this beautiful light-filled home to feel gallery-like – every room takes one on a journey via the furniture and art,” says Edo Mapelli Mozzi, CEO of Banda.
The fully-furnished townhouse features bespoke design elements, state-of-the-art amenities, passenger and service lifts, private spa, cinema, roof terrace, and landscaped garden. Entering the property, residents are greeted by the entrance foyer, which also leads to the study and the family living room.
The lower ground floor features an open-plan kitchen, a wine room and a dining area that overlooks a private garden. The lower levels of the property house the private pool, sauna, cinema room, and the formal living room and dining area.
Meanwhile, the master bedroom, located on the second floor, features bespoke furniture, such as a custom-made burl walnut bed and a banana sofa covered in blue velvet. Other bedrooms in the property feature distinctive colour palettes designed to complement a multi-generational family’s needs.
Chelsea Barracks is a development by Qatari Diar Europe, a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority. It is situated on a 12.8-acre site that housed a former British Army barracks of the same name. The redevelopment project, which is being completed in phases, comprises a collection of apartments, penthouses and townhouses, along with amenities including shops, sports facilities, a health club and spa, and landscaped public green space.
In November 2023, a 14,704 sq ft, eight-bedroom townhouse at Chelsea Barracks made headlines when it sold for GBP60 million. The buyer was reportedly a foreigner.
