Living by the sea: A waterfront sanctuary at The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove

Singaporean David Lee, founder of Greenwood Fish Market, has always felt a deep connection to the sea. For the past nine years, he has lived at The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove, a waterfront residential enclave on Sentosa Island. With boats as his first love, it’s only natural that Lee is drawn to the location — with its marina views and docked vessels.

He also enjoys the convenience of living just across the road from his restaurant, Greenwood Fish Market, situated along the vibrant Quayside Isle — a waterfront stretch of dining and entertainment venues lining the boardwalk that fronts the marina.

Greenwood Fish Market offers a wide selection of live and fresh seafood — from lobsters and oysters to crabs, prawns, and fish — all served in a relaxed setting with sweeping views of the yachts docked nearby.

The outlet also features a bakery that produces fresh loaves daily, including crusty baguettes, rye, sourdough, and cheese bread.

Life anchored in the marina

After eight years of renting at The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove, Lee decided it was time to put down roots. When Cityview Place Holdings released the remaining units in the 228-unit development at attractive prices in April last year, Lee saw an opportunity.

He purchased a three-bedroom unit on the fifth floor last September and carried out extensive renovations to reflect a New England-inspired nautical theme.

Lee also reconfigured the master bedroom so that each morning, when he sits up in bed, he has a clear view of his custom-made cabin cruiser moored at the private berth just outside. His apartment offers panoramic vistas — with the front balcony overlooking Marina Bay Sands and the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, and the rear balcony facing Quayside Isle and the marina.

“If you love the sea, there’s nowhere else in Singapore where you can live like this,” he says.

Resort lifestyle

Another buyer, who only wishes to be known as Amy P, also seized the opportunity when The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove was relaunched last year. She and her husband, Ken, purchased a unit in December, which is currently undergoing renovations.

“We’re moving out of the city because we want a slower pace of life,” says Amy. “We really like the resort lifestyle of Sentosa Cove.”

The couple were especially drawn to the development because they enjoy strolling or jogging along the Quayside Isle boardwalk.

They selected a two-bedroom unit on the first level, which overlooks the waterway and offers views of the bungalows on Treasure Island across the channel.

Residential services and privileges

Residents enjoy access to premium residential services and privileges, thanks to its proximity to W Singapore – Sentosa Cove.

Amy’s daughter is especially thrilled with the idea of ordering snacks through the 24/7 concierge service. “It’s like room service — the food is delivered straight to your condo,” says Amy. “Beyond dining, you can request housekeeping or laundry services, and the concierge will coordinate with hotel staff. When you’re away on holiday, you can even ask the concierge to feed your pets.”

Their daughter is also looking forward to the move, especially since some of her friends already live in Sentosa Cove. She’s particularly excited about the condo’s facilities — the infinity pool, a two-storey clubhouse with a gym, and the Central Plaza, which is ideal for private events and parties. The development also features 34 private berths for residents who own boats, like Lee.

Units with spa pools, penthouses with views

Following renewed interest after last year’s successful relaunch, close to 100 units have been taken up. In response, Cityview Place Holdings has released more units for sale. Among them are two fully furnished show suites now available for purchase.

One is a 2,551 sq ft, three-bedroom unit on the ground floor that includes a private enclosed area and spa pool — a feature common to most ground-floor units.

The other is a 2,573 sq ft duplex penthouse on the sixth floor. The upper level houses the master suite and a family lounge that opens to a terrace offering 270-degree views of the city and sea. On the lower level, two en suite bedrooms open to a second terrace overlooking the marina.

There are only 34 penthouses across the seven six-storey blocks of The Residences at W Singapore Sentosa Cove. The penthouses are a mix of two-bedroom plus study to five-bedroom plus study, with sizes ranging from 2,217 sq ft to 6,297 sq ft. Based on caveats lodged, 10 have been taken up to date.

Besides penthouses, there are also two- to four-bedroom apartments available for sale.

All units come with luxury finishes — marble flooring in the living and dining areas, timber flooring in the bedrooms, and high-end kitchen cabinetry, appliances, and bathroom fittings.

Other show suites are also available for viewing.
